With trainees located more than 12,000 kilometres away, we provided advice on structuring the program to suit delivery from a remote location, using a range of web-based technologies.

The training plan consisted of a series of trainer-led sessions followed by demonstrations and extensive guided practice sessions.

Pre-training preparation included one-on-one coaching with trainers to build skills in delivering training, giving meaningful feedback and undertaking competency assessments.

Introductory sessions on intercultural communication were also conducted.

Trainer's guides

We produced resource materials to support delivery of 13 topics scheduled in the training program.

Resources included trainer's guides, visual presentations, work instructions, assessment tools and trainee notes.

Games, tests and quizzes formed part of the program, while cultural days were used as opportunities for further engagement and team building.

Written materials were produced in simple English, suitable for broadcast-style delivery to learners who speak English as a second language.
